FHIR Viewer
Inspect resources and understand relationships.
Open patient, observation, encounter and bundle data in a readable split view with search and resource context.
Hgear Visualization
Inspect FHIR resources through searchable, readable views. Follow nested fields and references during implementation review and troubleshooting.
Visualization tools
Readable views, linked references and nested structure help teams move between overview and detail without switching tools.
FHIR Viewer
Open patient, observation, encounter and bundle data in a readable split view with search and resource context.
Structure inspection
Follow references and nested objects while the current resource stays visible, so the data model remains understandable.
How it works
The viewer runs in the browser with no setup, which makes it as useful for a product manager as for an integration engineer.
Paste or upload FHIR JSON, from a single Patient to a bundle with hundreds of resources.
Narrow the list to the resource types and records that matter for the question at hand.
Jump from an Observation to its subject, from an Encounter to its practitioner, with the originating resource kept in view.
Expand names, identifiers, codings and extensions in a readable layout alongside the raw JSON.
Resource relationships
References are the structure of a FHIR dataset. The viewer makes them navigable, so a record is never read in isolation.
Observation/771subjectPatient/exampleEncounter/204participantPractitioner/dr-leeCondition/31encounterEncounter/204MedicationRequest/58requesterPractitioner/dr-leeA FHIR bundle from a real system can run to thousands of lines of JSON, with the meaning spread across references between resources. Reading it raw is slow, and the mistakes it hides, a reference to the wrong patient or an extension in the wrong place, are easy to miss. A readable, searchable view turns that bundle into something a whole team can reason about.
Hgear’s FHIR Viewer shows a resource list, a linked view and a detail pane side by side. Teams use it to review implementation output, debug integration issues, document data for partners and bring new engineers up to speed on the resources they will be working with. Because it runs in the browser, there is nothing to install before the first review.

Common questions
This page covers readable inspection of FHIR resources, nested fields and relationships. It helps implementation teams understand resource structure and troubleshoot data. It is a resource inspection workflow, rather than a population analytics or clinical charting dashboard.
See FHIR Viewer features and input optionsInspect the resource type and identifier, find the affected field, and follow references to related resources. Comparing the readable view with the JSON can reveal missing values or unexpected structures. Use validation results to determine whether a finding violates the selected profile.
Check FHIR profile conformanceStart with resources such as Patient, Observation and Encounter, then learn how references connect them and how a Bundle groups resources. Use synthetic examples for exploration. The FHIR guide explains resources, APIs, profiles and validation concepts before you evaluate a workflow.
